Juhani Uolevi Pallasmaa (born September 14, 1936 in Hämeenlinna ) is a Finnish architect and professor of architecture at the Helsinki University of Technology . Pallasmaa is the former director of the Museum of Finnish Architecture (1978–1983).

His exhibitions on Finnish architecture, planning and visual arts have been shown in more than 30 countries. He wrote numerous articles on cultural philosophy, ecological psychology, and architectural and art theory that were published in various countries.

His book The Eyes of the Skin - Architecture and the senses (The Eyes of the Skin - Architecture and the Senses) became a classic and global standard textbook of architectural theory.

Pallasmaa is a member of the International Academy of Architecture and a research fellow from the American Institute of Architects .
