Jukka Poika (* 1980 in Haukipudas ; actually Jukka Rousu ) is a Finnish reggae singer .

biography

Until 2002 Poika was the singer of the Soul Captain Band , with whom he was in the Finnish charts in 2001. Then he decided to devote himself to other projects. He published under names such as Kapteeni Ä-ni , Kompostikopla and Jenkkarekka and worked there together, among others, with the old band mates Antti Hakala, Joakim Bachmann, Seppo Salmi and Tommi Tikkanen.

Jukka Poika's first real solo album was released in 2007. With Äänipää he made it into the top 10 of the Finnish charts. The album Kylmästä lämpimään brought him to number 2 in the charts three years later, and he had his first single hit with Mielihyvää . The great success came in 2011 with the song Silkkii . With six weeks at number 1 , it was one of the most successful pieces of the year in Finland. At the Emma Awards, the most important Finnish music award, it was named song of the year 2011, and Poika received another trophy for best live artist.

His next album, Yhdestä puusta , was released in March 2012 and entered the album charts at number 1 .
