Barbara Büchner

Barbara Büchner (born February 1, 1950 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author who writes books for children and young people as well as horror and fantasy novels .

Life

After graduating from a humanistic grammar school in Vienna in 1968 and completing a period of study and volunteering, Barbara Büchner began working as a freelance journalist and writer. She published articles on various topics in magazines such as neue frau , Zeit-Magazin or Madame . She was trained as a documentary and worked as a translator on several stays abroad in England and Ireland . Her first book was published in 1988.

Awards

• 1977: Austrian State Prize for Journalistic Achievement in the Interest of Young People
• She was included in the list of honor for the Austrian Children's and Young People's Book Prize for her book Adventure Bethel - The Right to Life .
• In 1993 she was included on the list of honor for the Catholic Children's Book Prize.
