Julia Darvas

Julia Darvas (also Julia Susslar ) (born August 13, 1929 in Budapest , Hungary ; † November 15, 2014 in São Paulo , Brazil ) was a dancer and singer .

Life

As the daughter of a Hungarian mother and an Austrian father, she first lived in Romania. At the beginning of the Second World War , the family emigrated to Istanbul , Turkey . Here she met her future partner Nicolas Darvas , with whom she later appeared as Darvas & Julia.

In the course of her career Julia also took singing lessons in London and also performed as a solo artist under the name Julia. In 1956 and 1957 she released two records under the His Master's Voice label .
