Career

Kuhn began her motorsport career in karting in 1998 , in which she was active until 2002. Among other things, she was 13th in the German Kart Championship in 2001. In 2003 Kuhn made her debut in formula racing and competed in the German Formula Volkswagen . For this purpose, Kuhn's family founded the Kuhn Motorsport racing team , which used the vehicle. She was 16th in the drivers' championship. In addition, she competed in the Speed Women Cup , a German racing series that was only designed for female racing drivers. Kuhn also planned to start in the German Formula Volkswagen in 2004. However, the championship was discontinued and Kuhn did not take part in any race this year due to budget problems.

In 2005 , Kuhn planned to move to the Formula 3 Euro Series as the next step in his career . In this, too, the vehicle was to be used by Kuhn Motorsport's own racing team . In preparation, Kuhn initially did not plan to participate in races, only a test program. First there were delivery problems at the chassis manufacturer Dallara , then Kuhn was prohibited from participating in official test drives. In order to gain racing experience anyway, Kuhn finally decided to register as a guest starter for the event at the Nürburgring . Kuhn became the first woman to take part in a race in the Formula 3 Euro Series. She also took part in the German Kart Championship again and finished it in 24th place. In 2006 , Kuhn was registered as a regular starter in the Formula 3 Euro Series and thus became the first woman to be eligible for points in a championship race. She competed on four race weekends and received no points. After the season, Kuhn ended her Formula 3 involvement because she could not find a budget for a whole season and she did not want to do single races for another year.

Instead, Kuhn switched to popular sport in the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring . She achieved a class victory in her debut race together with her teammates Mario Kossmehl and Sebastian Stahl .
