Julia Soek (born December 12, 1990 in Groningen ) is a Dutch cyclist .

Athletic career

Soek initially practiced judo and later switched to cycling . From 2009 to 2011 she drove as an amateur for the Dutch team Batavus Ladies. She competed in races with Ruiter Dakkapellen until May 31, 2012, and later with Specialized DPD SRAM.

Soek began her professional career in 2013 with the Belgian team Sengers Ladies Cycling Team and was a teammate of Anna van der Breggen . At the road world championships she was ninth in the team time trial . In the following year she moved to the Dutch racing team Giant-Shimano .

In 2017 she won her first professional victory in the Belgian one-day race Erondegemse Pijl. In 2018 she won the opening team time trial at the Giro d'Italia Femminile , but had to retire after a fall on the third stage.
