Julia Zange (2009)

Julia Zange (born August 25, 1983 in Darmstadt ) is a German author and actress.

Life

Zange grew up in Bad Hersfeld and began studying literature in Munich after graduating from high school. In 2006 she moved to Berlin. In 2005 she won the Prosanova literature competition, and in 2006 the " open mike " prize of the Berliner Literaturwerkstatt. In 2008 the novel The Institution for Better Girls was published by Suhrkamp- Verlag. The literary criticism described the book sometimes as a "revenant of the Lore novels from the 60s", sometimes as a "Berlin novel from the artistic milieu" that works with "simple formulations" and "impressionistic images". Literary critic Jochen Jung spoke of an "episodic book" which he described as a "mixture of Rainald Goetz , Joseph von Eichendorff , Sibylle Lewitscharoff and Rainer Braune ". The author created a "video about the book" for the paperback edition of the novel. On March 19, 2011, a dramatized version of the book premiered at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Zange studied social and business communication at the University of the Arts in Berlin.

In 2013 she played the lead role in the movie My Brother is called Robert and is an idiot , which will not be released until 2018. In November 2016 her second novel Realitätsgewitter was published by Aufbau Verlag. Her parents, however, filed an injunction, which was rejected.
