Julian Myrick

Julian Southall Myrick (called Uncle Mike ; born March 1, 1880 in Murfreesboro , North Carolina , † January 4, 1969 in New York ) was an American tennis activist .

Career

From 1920 to 1922 he was President of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). In his professional life, Myrick was a successful insurance entrepreneur and long-standing business partner and friend of the composer Charles Ives .

Myrick was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1963.
