Julian Schwanitz

Julian Schwanitz (* 1982 in Aachen ) is a German cameraman , documentary filmmaker and director .

Julian Schwanitz began studying camera and film at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . He later went to Scotland , where he continued his studies. Upon graduation, he completed postgraduate studies in documentary film directing at the Edinburgh College of Art . His thesis was the film Kirkcaldy Man about two-time darts world champion Jocky Wilson , which he directed. For this film he was awarded two prizes, in 2011 with the Golden Dove of the International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film and in 2013 the New Talent Award ofBritish Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Since 2008 he has received numerous awards for his films, in 2012 and 2013 as a cameraman alone six awards for Pablo's Winter .
