Juliane Robra

Juliane Robra (born January 8, 1983 in Herdecke , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a Swiss judoka . She is the owner of the 4th Dan .

Life

Robra grew up in Herdecke, Germany, and attended her first judo lesson at the primary school there.

In 1994 Robra moved with her family to Geneva because her father started to work in Switzerland. A year later, in 1995, she took part in her first international judo competition. Robra celebrated her first big success with the youngsters, when she won the U23 European Championship silver in 2005 in Kiev .

Robra's career highlight was her participation in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. There, however, she failed in the starting lap.

In July 2016, Robra ended her active career as a judoka after over 20 podium places in international competitions - including Grand Slam competitions, Grand Prix, European Championships and in the European Cup with the team. Your best ranking in the world ranking is 6th.

Even today Robra is closely connected to the sport of judo. She is still a coach at her youth club in Geneva.

Sporting successes

  • Swiss championships: 8 times Swiss champion and one Swiss champion in the team
  • European Championship: 2010 in Vienna - 3rd place (category up to 70 kg) / 2012 in Chelyabinsk - 3rd place (category up to 70 kg)
  • Olympic Games : Participation in the London 2012 Summer Games
