Julie Doiron

Julie Doiron (* 1972 in Moncton , New Brunswick , Canada ) is a Canadian musician .

Julie Doiron first studied photography. As a teenager she learned to play the piano , guitar and saxophone . She started playing bass in the band Eric's Trip at the age of 18, but in the meantime she was already writing her first songs for herself, with guitar accompaniment.

In 1996 she released her first solo album Broken Girl and at the same time broke away from the band. With the help of a government grant, she released Will You Still Love Me? . Julie Doiron and the Wooden Stars is what she describes as an album that gives impulses and received the important Canadian music prize Juno Award . Several solo albums followed, including Desormais in French. Their last album Woke myself up also made them more popular in Europe.

Julie Doiron lives in Sackville , New Brunswick with her three children Ben, Charlotte and Rose.
