Julie Gavras

Julie Gavras is a French film director and screenwriter .

She is the daughter of the director Constantin Costa-Gavras and sister of the director Romain Gavras . She studied literature and law and then started working as an assistant director . She worked with various directors from France and Italy, including with her father on his film The Deputy .

She directed some documentaries that were broadcast on ARTE , among others . Her documentary Le corsaire, le magicien, le voleur et les enfants was released in French cinemas in 2002. Her first feature film Fidel is guilty ( La faute à Fidel! ) Was released in 2006. Her film Late Bloomers with Isabella Rossellini , William Hurt , Joanna Lumley and Simon Callow was shown in 2011 at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival . She also wrote the script for both films.

Julie Gavras made minor appearances as an actress in two of Costa-Gavras' films - The Ax and Eden is West .
