Julio Lancieri , full name Julio César Lancieri , (born May 9, 1966 in Paysandú ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

Midfielder Lancieri played in 1987 for Nacional Montevideo and was used in the Clásico on April 23, 1987 against Club Atlético Peñarol . His teammates included Gualberto Velichco , Tomás Silva and Didí De Souza . He was at least 1992 on the squad of the Uruguayan club Bella Vista in the Primera División . In 1994 he worked in the ranks of the team coached by Julio Ribas from Sud América at the championship win in the Segunda División and the subsequent promotion. In the Clausura 1998 he was in the ranks of the second division Centro Atlético Fénix and scored his only goal of the season on matchday 11 against his former club Sud América. In 2000 he was a member of the Rocha FC team , which played the club's first professional game in the top Uruguayan league against Racing on February 18 that year at the Estadio Luis Tróccoli in Montevideo . During the season he was also used at least in the game against Nacional Montevideo (April 15, 2000), in which he received the red card.
