Reginald Alexander Sinclair (born March 6, 1925 in Lachine , Québec , † November 14, 2013 in Quispamsis , New Brunswick ) was a Canadian ice hockey player and entrepreneur who, during his active career between 1944 and 1953, among other things, 211 games for the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings competed in the National Hockey League and was subsequently Vice President at PepsiCo .
Career
Sinclair was born in Lachine and raised in Montreal . Between 1943 and 1945 he did his military service in the Royal Canadian Air Force and then enrolled at McGill University . There he played very successfully for the university's ice hockey team for the next five years and graduated from commercial studies in 1949.
The striker then initially pursued an ice hockey career and ran for the Sherbrooke Saints in the Québec Senior Hockey League . In October 1950, Sinclair signed a contract with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League as a free agent . The attacker played two seasons for the Rangers before considering ending his career early. An offer by the Detroit Red Wings led in August 1952 to the fact that he was transferred to the Red Wings together with John Morrison. In return, Detroit gave Leo Reise to the Rangers. However, after just one season, Sinclair ended his career and began working as an entrepreneur .
After working for PepsiCo during the summer break , he decided to work full-time for the company. In 1965 he was promoted to vice president of the company. He later worked as the president of RC Cola . Sinclair died on November 14, 2013 at the age of 88 in Quispamsis .
