Johannes Jacob Julius Friedleben (* 1820 in Frankfurt am Main ; † 1886 there ) was a lawyer and politician for the Free City of Frankfurt .

Life

Friedleben was the son of the teacher Dr. phil. Theodor Friedleben. The doctor Alexander Friedleben was a brother. Friedleben came from a branch of the Jewish Wimpfen family, who converted to Christianity after 1800 and took the name Friedleben. He married Susette nee Wolf. The marriage resulted in their son Georg Julius Friedrich Friedleben , who also had a doctorate in law and was a member of the Nassau municipal parliament .

Julius Friedleben studied law. The Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg received his doctorate in 1841 as Dr. iur. His last position was as a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main. In 1881 he joined his father's office, which he later took over.

As part of the revolution of 1848/1849 in the Free City of Frankfurt , he was elected to the thirty-member constitutional committee of the city on August 24, 1848. In the next election on October 25, 1848, he was elected to the Constituent Assembly of the Free City of Frankfurt . In 1866 he was a member of the Legislative Body .

Julius Friedleben, his wife and son are buried in the main cemetery (Frankfurt am Main) . The grave ( Gewann D, grave site 202-204a) is a listed building .
