Julius Jung (doctor)

Julius Jung (born August 29, 1914 in Eltville ; † October 20, 1944 ) was a German concentration camp doctor and SS-Hauptsturmführer .

career

Jung completed a degree in medicine and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD . In February 1933 he joined the NSDAP . During the Second World War he joined the Waffen SS in early October 1940 . At first he was employed as a camp doctor in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp . He then worked in Auschwitz concentration camp in October / November 1941 . He was then used in the 6th SS Mountain Division "North" .

Jung died on October 20, 1944. According to the SS-Standartenführer Franz Schreiber , he committed suicide in order to evade the imminent prisoner of war.
