Julius summer

Julius Sommer (born July 9, 1871 in Reutlingen , † August 16, 1943 in Danzig ) was a German mathematician.

Sommer studied in Stuttgart from 1889 to 1891 and at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen until 1894 . There he received his doctorate in 1897 under Alexander von Brill ( on the determination of excellent point groups on curves of gender p ) and completed his habilitation in 1899 in Göttingen. Since 1904 he was a full professor of mathematics (as a colleague of Hans von Mangoldt ) at the TH Danzig . In 1924/25 he was rector there. He wrote one of the elementary geometry articles in the Encyclopedia of Mathematical Sciences . In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
