Julius Sponsel

Julius Sponsel (born September 5, 1887 in Selb , † after 1945) was a German judge .

Life

The Catholic Sponsel was the son of a forest manager. He passed the first state legal examination in 1910 with the grade “passed”, the second in 1913 with “main result 84”. In mid-July 1919 he became a legal intern and then a permanent assistant judge in youth matters at the Nuremberg District Court . Five weeks later he became a clerk at the district court. In May 1920 he became a district attorney and in 1926 a district judge. In March 1930 he was promoted to the District Court Council and in July transferred to the Labor Court in Nuremberg. In mid-March 1934, Sponsel became district judge at the district court of Nuremberg-Fürth and in December 1935 district court director there. On May 1, 1937, he joined the NSDAP ( membership number 4,857,330). At the beginning of 1940 he was assigned to the Reichsgericht as an unskilled worker and in April 1941 he was appointed Reichsgerichtsrat. He was active in the 1st and 4th Criminal Senate.
