Julius von Cavallar (born May 15, 1845 near Ödenburg , Kingdom of Hungary ; † August 20, 1906 in Graz , Austria-Hungary ) was an old Austrian major general .

biography

Julius Cavallar served as an officer in the Austro-Hungarian Army until his retirement on February 1, 1903. On March 12 of the same year he was awarded the Hungarian nobility . The entry in the "Liber Regius" was not made until March 17, 1903.

family

Julius von Cavallar married on November 18, 1874 in Cilli Therese born. Kartin, with whom he had three children: Auguste, Ernst and Margarethe.

His son Ernst, born in Wiener Neustadt on February 15, 1879, died on September 19, 1914 near Uzvece ( Serbia ) as captain of Feldjäger Battalion No. 21 and left behind two children from his marriage to Gabriele geb. Hampl: Erna and Kurt.

Kurt von Cavallar, who was born in Gradisca on December 12, 1912, died childless. Thus the line of the descendants of Julius von Cavallar died out.

The Cavallar family from Hungary has no connection with the old Austrian-Italian noble family of Barons von Cavallar and the Knights Cavallar von Grabensprung .
