Junkershausen

Junkershausen is a former municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld ( Bavaria ), which has belonged to the Hollstadt municipality since May 1, 1978 . The place is about ten kilometers east of the district town of Bad Neustadt an der Saale .

history

Ingersfeld-Junkershausen is already mentioned in the founding deed of the Bildhausen Monastery from 1156. It was represented by a large monastery courtyard, which had developed into the most important part of the Bildhausen monastery (it is referred to in the annals as the "granary of the monastery") and which the monks initially managed themselves. In 1472 the monastery courtyard was leased to six feudal people. The place belonged to the Würzburg monastery and became part of Bavaria in 1815.

Culture and customs

The neighboring Wargolshausen regarded as carnival stronghold . The Rose Monday parade , which starts in Junkershausen, is the largest of its kind in the Rhön-Grabfeld district .
