Junrey Balawing

Junrey Balawing (born June 12, 1993 in Sindangan ; † July 28, 2020 there ) was 59.93 centimeters, according to the Guinness Book of Records, the smallest living man in the world. The Filipino lived in Sindangan, around 865 kilometers south of the capital Manila .

When he came of age in June 2011, he broke the record of the Nepalese Khagendra Thapa Magar , who until then was considered the smallest living man in the world. Unlike his predecessor, Balawing had to be supported while walking because of his weak knees, so that Magar remained the smallest man in the world who could walk independently. As early as February 2012, a 54.6 centimeter tall Nepalese was found to be the smallest living man in the world: The then 72-year-old Chandra Bahadur Dangi (1939-2015) was at the same time the smallest person whose measurements were ever documented and the oldest person who was ever listed in the Guinness Book as the smallest man in the world. Balawing has been the record holder again since Dangi's death in 2015.
