Juozas Listavičius

Juozas Listavičius (born September 4, 1929 in Liesionys , Alytus Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian conservative politician and former member of the Seimas (parliament) and the Baltic Assembly , economist and lecturer at Vilnius University .

Life

Listavičius learned in Pivašiūnai and Butrimonys . Until 1950 he attended high school in Daugai . Listavičius then worked there as a teacher. In 1951 he was arrested by the KGB and sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1952. In 1956 Listavičius returned to Lithuania . In 1957 he completed his training as an accountant in Kretinga , from 1959 to 1964 the diploma course at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Vilnius and from 1970 to 1974 the traineeship . Then Listavičius received his doctorate in accounting . From 1986 he taught as a lecturer .

From 1992 to 2000 he was a member of the Seimas for the conservative Tėvynės Sąjunga party , and from 1996 to 2000 he was also a member of the Baltic Assembly. Since 2003 he has been a member of the Krikščionių partija party (then Krikščionių konservatorių socialinė sąjunga ).

Listavičius is married. With his wife Vida Listavičienė he has a daughter and son Artūras Listavičius (* 1970, manager, vice-president of the MG Baltic concern ).
