The Jupiter was a tanker of DAPG , who was at the time of entry into service in 1914 with 28,507 cubic meters of space the largest tankers in the world.

history

The ship was built in 1914 by the Howaldtswerke in Kiel on behalf of DAPG . On the first voyage from Hamburg to New York , the ship reached Cape Henry on August 10, 1914. Here it was brought under the US flag.

In 1915 the ship went to Standard Oil Co. The new name became Standard . From 1927 it drove for the Standard Shipping Co. before returning to the Standard Oil Co. in 1935.

In 1939 the Panama Transport Co. became the new operator of the ship. Ten years later, in 1949, the ship went to the American European Tanker Co., which operated it for another five years. In the fourth quarter of 1954, the ship was canceled in La Spezia .
