Jurgis juozapaitis
Jurgis Juozapaitis (born June 29, 1942 in Pykuoliai , Rajongemeinde Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian composer.
Life
Jouzapaitis studied composition with Julius Juzeliūnas at the Lithuanian State Conservatory until 1968 . From 1969 to 1977 he was sound engineer at the Lithuanian Radio and Television in Vilnius , after which he worked as a freelance composer. From 1991 to 1994 he taught at the Lithuanian Music Academy . He then worked as the chairman of the Music Fund of the Lithuanian Composers' Association, and from 1996 as the chairman of the association. From 1998 to 2000 he taught at the Liepaitės Choir School in Vilnius.
Jouzapaitis has received many awards for his vocal compositions. a. fifteen times with the Stasys Šimkus Prize . In 1978 he received the Lithuanian State Prize for his Symphony Rex . In 2002 he was awarded the Lithuanian National Prize. With the orchestral work Bokštų kontrapunktai he won the 2004 Sinfonia Baltica International Composition Competition .
