Yuri Ivanovich Fyodorow ( Russian Юрий Иванович Фёдоров ; born June 8, 1949 in Ulyanovsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet - Russian ice hockey player . Since the end of his career he has been working as a trainer, currently in the youth division of his parent club Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (formerly Gorky).
Career
During his Soviet period, the defender played at Torpedo Gorky . In total, he scored 102 goals in 589 games in the Soviet league .
International
On September 11, 1974, he was in a game against Finland for the first time for the Soviet national ice hockey team on the ice. His international career was crowned with gold medals at the ice hockey world championships in 1975 and 1978. For the national team, he scored 4 goals in 38 international matches. On April 2, 1979 he played his last international match. In 1978 he was honored with the admission into the " Russian Hockey Hall of Fame ".
