Yuri Konstantinowitsch Kidjajew ( Russian Юрий Константинович Кидяев , born February 28, 1955 in Moscow ) is a Soviet handball player and Olympic champion .
Career
Kidjajew ran on during his career for the Soviet club CSKA Moscow . Here he was initially employed as a cyclist and later retrained as an outside player . With ZSKA he won the Soviet championship in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983 and 1987 as well as the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup in 1987 . Furthermore, Kidjajew belonged to the squad of the Soviet national team , for which he scored 601 goals in 252 internationals. He won the gold medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the silver medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow . In addition, Kidjajew won the silver medal at the 1978 World Cup and the gold medal at the 1982 World Cup .
After his active career, Kidjajew worked as a handball coach in Russia, Germany, Iran and the Ukraine .
