Yuri Nikolayevich Oserow
Yuri Nikolajewitsch Oserow ( Russian Юрий Николаевич Озеров ; born January 26, 1921 in Moscow ; † October 16, 2001 there ) was a Russian director .
In 1944 he graduated from the Frunze Military Academy and took part in the Battle of Berlin as a major and battalion commander. From 1947 to 1951 he studied directing at the Moscow Film School WGIK . His first film in the Nikitsk Botanical Garden was released in 1953. Oserow was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federative Soviet Republic in 1965. He received the Lenin Prize and the Star of Friendship of Nations in gold from the GDR. His films revolved primarily around topics of the Great Patriotic War , in addition he made several primarily documentary films on sports topics.
