Yuri Wassiljewitsch Jakowlew
Yuri Wassiljewitsch Jakowlew ( Russian Ю́рий Васи́льевич Я́ковлев ; born April 25, 1928 in Moscow , Soviet Union ; † November 30, 2013 there ) was a Russian actor and since 1976 people 's artist of the USSR .
Live and act
From 1948 to 1952 he studied acting at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute (Театральный институт имени Бориса Щукина) of the Vakhtangov Theater in Moscow. From 1952 he was a member of the actors' troupe of the Vakhtangov Theater. His stage partners there included actors such as Michail Ulyanov , Ruben Simonow, Boris Sachawa, Michail Astangow, Varvara Popova and many other well-known Soviet and Russian actors. He gained greater fame in film in 1958 through the lead role as Prince Myshkin in the film The Idiot by Ivan Pyriev . In the 1960s to 1980s he was one of the most popular actors in the Soviet Union.
Yakovlev was active in his almost 60-year career in film and television as well as in the theater. From 1952 to 2003 he was seen in almost 40 productions on theatrical stages and by 2007 he made almost 60 films. His best-known films include Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Job (1973) from Leonid Gaidai , The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath! (1975) and Kin-dsa-dsa! from 1986.
In 1997, Yakovlev also published a book called "Albom sudby mojej" ( Album of My Fate ).
Awards
Yakovlev was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1976 and received the Order of Merit for the Fatherland . In 1978 he was awarded the Order of the Red Labor Banner and in 1988 he was given an Order of Lenin . He was also awarded various Russian film prizes.
Private
Yakovlev's father, Wassili Wassiljewitsch Jakowlew, was a lawyer and his mother, Olga Mikhailovna Iwanowa, was a housewife. Yakovlev was married a total of three times (including the actress Yekaterina Rajkina) and had a child in each marriage, of which Anton Jakowlew and Aljona Jakowlewa are also actors. He lived in Moscow with his family.
