Just Jack (born January 1, 1976 in London ; actually Jack Allsopp ) is an English musician . His music style can be classified between breakdance , electro funk , garage house and hip-hop .
biography
As a 15-year-old Allsopp was able to gain experience as a DJ . After successfully training as a designer, he returned to music. The breakthrough came in 2002 when he released the album The Outer Marker , which was not commercially successful, but mainly because the record label went bankrupt. In 2007 he finally released the album Overtones on the major label Mercury Records . The single Starz in Their Eyes reached number 2 in the UK charts and also made it into the Top 100 in Germany. The album Overtones reached number 6 in the British album charts.
The song “Starz in Their Eyes” was for a while the promotional song for the Internet partner exchange FriendScout24 and is the theme song of the RTL comedy series Böse Mädchen .
Surname
His stage name came about because he had been on his own since the beginning of his musician career. It was "just Jack" (Just Jack) who was responsible for his music.
In an interview, Jack Allsopp told a different story: When he came up with a stage name in his early career, he was sure that 'Jack' should be part of it. When he said to a friend that he wanted to call himself 'Jack', he asked "Just Jack?" ("Just Jack?").
