Justina's Staugaitis
Justinas Staugaitis (born November 14, 1866 in Tupikai, Šakiai district , Russian Empire ; † July 8, 1943 in Telšiai ) was Bishop of Telšiai and a Lithuanian politician.
Life
He studied at the Kudirkos Naumiestis elementary school and at the high school in Marijampolė . In 1890 he graduated from the Seinai Seminary and was ordained a priest on June 24th. On April 5, 1926, he was appointed bishop of Telšiai and prelate of Klaipėda , and on May 25, he was ordained bishop by Antoni Karaś . In 1939 he resigned as a prelate, followed by Maximilian Kaller as apostolic administrator of the prelature .
From 1926 to 1943 he headed the Telšiai diocese . From 1922 to 1926 he was a member of the Seimas and deputy chairman, from 1923 to 1925 chairman of the parliament. in November 1922 he was retirement chairman .
