The penal institution Cottbus-Dissenchen (abbreviated JVA Cottbus-Dissenchen ) is a penal institution of the state of Brandenburg in the Cottbus district of Dissenchen . Male adult offenders are housed in the prison. Since 2002 it has replaced the former JVA Cottbus which was on Bautzener Strasse and is now a memorial.

Jurisdiction

In the JVA Cottbus-Dissenchen, male adult prisoners are serving custodial sentences in closed and open execution. Furthermore, juveniles and adolescents are convicted. In addition, the remand prisoners of the district court district Cottbus are accommodated here. In 2013 there were 502 closed prison places (108 for pre-trial detention, 394 for criminal detention) and 66 in open prison.
