Justo Vicente José de Herrera y Díaz del Valle for short Justo Herrera (born  July 19, 1786 in Honduras ; †) was from May 28, 1837 to September 3, 1838 Supremo Director of the Province of Honduras within the Central American Confederation .

Life

Dionisio de Herrera was born into a wealthy family in late colonial Central America. His parents were Paula Díaz del Valle and Juan Jacinto Herrera. His brothers were José Dionisio and Próspero. His cousin was José Cecilio Díaz del Valle .

From April 6, 1820 to September 1821, he was Provincial MP for Choluteca . He was secretary to the Constituent Assembly of 1824.

He was Teniente de Alcalde Mayor (in the event of illness, absence, resignation or death of the incumbent, authorized representative) of Choluteca.

He was elected Supremo Director by the Honduran Parliament . He had insurgents from the Partido Conservador beaten in Nacaome, Texiguat and Manto. During his tenure in Honduras broke a cholera - epidemic of. He decreed the establishment of health commissions to administer quarantine measures and medication. Gracias in Lempira Department has counted more than 400 deaths. He founded the State Gazette Semanario Oficial de Honduras for the publication of decrees. He founded a statistical office.
