Justus Köhncke (* 1966 in Gießen ) is a German techno producer and pop musician .

Köhncke was a member of the house trio Whirlpool Productions , to which Hans Nieswandt and Eric D. Clark also belonged. Together they had a number 1 hit in Italy ( From Disco To Disco ). Since 1999 Köhncke has published as a soloist on the compact Cologne label . In his productions he combines minimalist techno pieces with elements from disco and krautrock .

Musical collaboration

In 2004 Köhncke produced the single Through the Night of the musician Andreas Dorau . He worked with Dirk von Lowtzow for both Tocotronic and Phantom / Ghost . Köhncke is responsible for such a remix of Tomorrow Will Be Like Today , an English version of tomorrow will be like today , responsible.

For several years he has also been working on film music with Irmin Schmidt , a musician from the band Can . Together with the artist Kai Althoff he produced under the name Subtle Tease .

After many years in Cologne , Köhnke has lived in Berlin since 2011.

Its 2004 title Timecode is inspired by the song How Long ( Lipps, Inc. , 1980).
