Jutta from Thuringia

Jutta von Thuringia (* 1184 ; † August 6, 1235 in Schleusingen ) was the eldest daughter of Landgrave Hermann I of Thuringia .

Before 1197 she was married to Margrave Dietrich the Believed of Meissen. After the death of her husband in 1221, she and her brother, Landgrave Ludwig IV of Thuringia, eagerly took care of the guardianship of Meissen for their only five-year-old son Heinrich the Illustrious . In 1223 she married Count Poppo VII von Henneberg .

Jutta von Thuringia died on August 6, 1235 in Schleusingen. After the death of her husband Heinrich VIII von Henneberg-Schleusingen as Jutta von Henneberg in 1347, her granddaughter Jutta von Brandenburg became regent over the Coburg foster family .
