Jyri Pelkonen (born December 21, 1965 ) is a former Finnish Nordic combined athlete .

Pelkonen achieved his first place in the points in a competition in the context of the Nordic Combined World Cup on January 5, 1985 in Schonach . There he took 15th place in a Gundersen competition from the normal hill with a subsequent cross-country distance of 15 kilometers. In that season he was able to win two medals at major events: First, he won bronze in the team competition at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld in 1985 , together with Jukka Ylipulli and Jouko Karjalainen . A few weeks later he was also able to win the bronze medal in the individual competition at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1985 . On March 14, 1986, he reached the 13th place in the Norwegian Oslo , the best result of his career in the World Cup and could then, just one more time on March 18, 1989 in the US Lake Placid , achieve a position in the points. In that year he also took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1989 , where he was sixth in the individual competition.
