Kärtsy Hatakka (born December 17, 1967 in Helsinki , real name: Kari Arvo Ilari Hatakka) is a Finnish musician . He is the head of the rock group Waltari . He sings, plays bass and keyboard .

Life

In 1975, at the age of eight, Kärtsy Hatakka made his musical debut with the album She Does Slip in the band Cat & Mouse together with his older brother Tote Hatakka.

In 1986 he founded the band Waltari together with Jariot and the former drummer Sale . In 1995 he was active again for Cat & Mouse and She Does Slip was released with new bonus tracks.

In 1997 Hatakka became a father. His son is called Akseli Amadeus.

In 1998 the extended play of Cat & Mouse Around And Round came out and in 1999 he sang in the song Sky is the limit by the electro-hip-hop band Bomfunk MC’s . In 2000 he released his first solo single K2 - Lights Go Wild .

On June 25, 2002, the stage play Akseli and Eelo premiered at the Iitti Summer Theater , which is about 15 kilometers west of Kouvola . Hatakka composed the music for the story about two of his ancestors, two brothers who were followers of Leo Tolstoy's ideas of non-violence, love and compassion. Both were shot dead in 1918 during the Finnish Civil War .

Together with Kimmo Kajasto, he composed the soundtrack for the video game Max Payne in 2001 . He also released his second solo single K2 - Get On Top . In August 2010 his solo album "Duty Freedom" was released.
