Bomfunk MC’s are a Finnish electro - hip-hop group.
history
The Bomfunk MC's were founded by Ismo Lappalainen alias DJ Gismo and Raymond Ebanks alias BOW ( Brother of Words ). Ebanks has lived in Finland's capital Helsinki since childhood . DJ Gismo is from Turku .
The duo released the album In Stereo in 1999 , which reached platinum status in Finland with 90,000 units sold. The singles Uprocking Beats , Freestyler and B-Boys & Flygirls were released from the album . The single Freestyler was successful in several European countries in 2000. In the same year she was on the soundtracks for the films Haggard and Kuka lohduttaisi Viiviä? contain.
The second album Burnin 'Sneakers was released in October 2002, but it could no longer build on the old success. Only in Finland the album was represented in the charts and reached number 1 there. Four singles were released from the album.
Two years later, the album Reverse Psychology was released , which was only able to place itself in the Finnish charts and reached tenth place there.
In 2018 the band got together again and planned a summer tour for the following year. On February 18, 2019, a remake of the video was released for Freestyler 's 20th anniversary . During a festival appearance in 2019 the band introduced two new songs: "Can't Runaway" and "Mic Drop".
