Käthe Maas
Käthe Maas , married Käthe Maas-Belker , (* 1920 ; † 2002 ) was a German opera singer ( soprano ). She was married to the conductor and artistic director Paul Belker (1901–1976) and occasionally appeared as Käthe Maas-Belker .
Life
Her first job was in 1938 at the Dortmund Theater . This was followed by an engagement from 1940 to 1941 at the Teplitz-Schönau Theater in Bohemia . Her career at the Stadttheater von Kiel began in 1941. From 1943 onwards it was interrupted by the Second World War, after which it lasted until 1949. From then on, she worked at the Hamburg State Opera until 1952. In the same year she moved to the Landestheater Darmstadt and stayed there until 1957. She was a member of the Wuppertal Opera House until she left the stage in 1971 .
