The King Fahd Complex for printing the Koran ( Arabic مجمع الملك فهد لطباعة المصحف الشريف, DMG Muǧammaʿ al-Malik Fahd li-Ṭibāʿat al-Muṣḥaf aš-Šarīf ) was founded in 1982 in Medina , Saudi Arabia . It is named after the Saudi Arabian King Fahd . It is the "world's largest Koran producer" with 1,500 employees. The institution is dedicated to the worldwide dissemination of the Koran - the Holy Scriptures of Islam - and its translations . A bilingual Arabic - Chinese edition in the translation by Ma Jian, for example, appeared in 1986. A German translation of the Koran of the König-Fahd-Complex was published by Frank Bubenheim and Nadeem Elyas .
