Carmen König-Rothemund
Carmen König-Rothemund (born September 25, 1948 in Munich ) is a German politician ( SPD ).
Career
König attended primary school in Munich and graduated from the social science branch of the Sophie-Scholl-Gymnasium. She studied economics and law in Munich and passed the second state examination in law. She works as a lawyer. Since 1991 she has also been an honorary judge at the Bavarian Constitutional Court .
In 1966, König became a member of the SPD. There she was chairwoman of the Young Socialists in the district of southern Bavaria from 1971 to 1974 , and from 1987 to 1990 deputy chairwoman of the SPD district of southern Bavaria.
From 1978 to 1994 she was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .
Since 1988 she has been chairwoman of the "Bavarian Seminar for Politics" and since October 20, 2010 chairwoman of the Georg von Vollmar Academy .
On January 27, 2019, at the party convention of the BayernSPD in Nuremberg , she was awarded the Georg von Vollmar Medal, the party's highest award.
