König is an impact crater in the southwest of the front of the moon in the Mare Nubium plain , southwest of the Bullialdus crater and northwest of Kies . The somewhat irregularly shaped crater is hardly eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Austrian astronomer Rudolf König .
