The Königinkloster , actually Poor Clare Monastery of St. Maria, Queen of Angels , was a monastery of the Poor Clares in Vienna. It was donated by Elisabeth of Austria around 1580 and dissolved in the course of the Josephine reforms in 1781.

The founder, Elisabeth of Austria , was buried in the abbey church, which was built from 1582 to 1583 . In 1618 Empress Anna and in 1619 her husband Emperor Matthias were buried here, their separately buried hearts and the separately buried heart of Emperor Ferdinand II were also initially located here. The bodies of Emperor Matthias and Empress Anna were transferred to the Capuchin Crypt in 1633 , the three heart urns finally found their place in the heart crypt of the Habsburgs in the Loreto Chapel of the Augustinian Church . After the abolition of the royal monastery, the bones of Elisabeth of Austria were reburied in the ducal crypt of St. Stephen's Cathedral .

After the abolition of the monastery in 1781 as part of the Josephine church reforms , the Viennese Lutheran and the Reformed congregation each bought part of the former monastery in 1783. The Reformed community built a house of prayer on their property, which was later expanded to become the “ Reformed City Church ”. The prayer house was the first Protestant church in Vienna to be built as such. The Lutheran congregation got the central part of the abandoned royal monastery with the former monastery church. Another part of the former monastery site was acquired by the banker Johann von Fries , who had today's Palais Pallavicini built there. The former monastery church of the Königinkloster was subsequently adapted and expanded under its new owners as the " Lutheran City Church ". Since , according to the provisions of the tolerance patent , the Protestant church could not be recognized as such from the outside, the three steeples of the former monastery church had to be removed.

Today the Palais Pallavicini and Pálffy as well as the Lutheran and Reformed city churches are located on the former monastery area ; it is bordered by Dorotheergasse , Josefsplatz , Bräunerstraße and Stallburggasse. Visavis the royal monastery was the Dorotheerkloster , which was also dissolved in the course of the Josephine reforms.

In 1887 the Königsklostergasse in Vienna- Mariahilf (6th district) was named after the monastery, which from 1582 had a farm in Mariahilf.
