The Königsgalerie Duisburg is a shopping center in downtown Duisburg ( Duisburg-Mitte district ) that was opened on October 27, 2011. The cost of the renovation of the former Galeria Duisburg was around 80 million euros. The EKZ is operated by the Dutch Corio Group , which also runs the Duisburg Forum in Duisburg . After one quarter, the visitor number of one million was reached, but 19 of the 50 shops were not yet let. Even after a year, the occupancy rate and customer frequency did not meet expectations.

The hallmark of the Königsgalerie is the "Krone Duisburg version" or King Heinrich's crown, an oversized crown that is suspended on steel cables divided into segments of different sizes. Once an hour, the various crown segments are put together to form a complete crown.
