Kühbruck refers to a parcel (about 925  m above sea level ) and a private road bridge in the market town of Nenzing in Vorarlberg , Austria . To the northwest of the Kühbruck parcel is the Kuhbruckfrusche parcel , to the northeast the Küabrucköbele and to the southeast the Küabrückkopf .

The Kühbruck road bridge crosses the Meng at about 7.28 kilometers of water at a height of around 4 meters. The Gamperdonaweg leads over the bridge from Nenzing to Alpe Gamperdona ( Nenzinger Himmel ).

Kühbruck is about 10 km as the crow flies from the local community of Nenzing and about 7 km from Nenzinger Himmel. It is this parcel, seen from Nenzing, the first major widening of the Meng Gorge and the beginning of the transition to the subsequent alpine area.

Bible path to Kühbruck

A pilgrimage route ( biblical path) along the Gamperdonaweg to Kühbruck, to the Kühbruck chapel (Rosary Madonna) with nine stations begins at the Stellveder chapel . Bible verses that match the local conditions, mostly from the Book of Psalms , are attached to wooden panels at prominent places in nature .

Trivia

The wooden cross in Kühbruck on Gamperdonaweg by the chapel on the opposite side of the street was donated by two woodcutters who narrowly escaped death while rafting . The area around Kuhbrück is repeatedly affected by mudslides and avalanches. In 1762 both the bridge and the chapel were torn away by the Meng flood.

In addition to the pilgrimage chapel, there are also large gneiss boulders , which are designated as natural monuments.

According to a picture in the anteroom of the Kuhbrück chapel, the last bear living in Vorarlberg is said to have been shot here in 1783.
