Artists' Quarter (Wiesbaden)
The artists' quarter in Wiesbaden has been under construction since 2006 on the site of the former West freight yard near the Europaviertel . Administratively, it belongs to the Rheingauviertel district .
On a total area of 194,500 square meters , a mixture of different types of living , such as detached single - family houses , semi - detached houses , terraced houses , residential groups and apartment buildings, should originally be built by the end of 2013; completion is expected to be delayed until the end of 2021.
Naming
The name Künstlerviertel was able to prevail in a naming competition between a regional newspaper and the city of Wiesbaden at the end of 2005. The streets will therefore also bear the names of famous women artists.

Planning errors
The Hessian Administrative Court in Kassel in two judgments (case 4 C 1789 / 08.N and 4 C 70/90 / 08.N) on 12 November 2009 on judicial review complaints declared two businesses the development plan of the state capital Wiesbaden due to significant planning errors invalid.
