Hertha Genzmer

Hertha Genzmer (born October 25, 1896 in Halle (Saale) , † February 2, 1971 in Wiesbaden ) was a German actress, reciter and the founder of the Genzmer drama school .

Life

Hertha Genzmer was a daughter of the town planner and university professor Ewald Genzmer (1856-1932), town planner in Halle (Saale) (1892-1904), professor for town planning and urban civil engineering at the TH Danzig (1904-1911) and at the TH Dresden (1911–1921) and Marie geb. Paxmann (1860-1897).

Hertha Genzmer received her first engagement in Dresden ( Albert Theater ), then in Frankfurt am Main and Hamburg-Altona. From 1922 to 1947 she worked at the State Theater in Wiesbaden, later as a guest at various theaters. She was active as a reciter with her own evenings, in radio, dubbing and television (including the role of Martha in Die Firma Hesselbach ).

In 1952 she founded the drama school Genzmer e. V.

In 1960 she received a teaching position at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main . For many years she was a member of the examination committee in the Cooperative of German Stage Members in Frankfurt am Main.
