The Kılavuzlu Dam ( Turkish Kılavuzlu Barajı ) is a dam in southeastern Turkey on the Ceyhan , 15 km west of the provincial capital Kahramanmaraş in the province of the same name .
The Kılavuzlu dam was built in 1994-2001 with the purpose of irrigation , energy generation and drinking water supply . The barrier structure is a 56 m (above the valley floor) high earth embankment . The wall volume is 3.96 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of 2.88 km². The storage space is 69 million m³. The hydropower plant has an installed capacity of 54 MW. The standard work capacity is 144 GWh per year. The dam is designed for the irrigation of an area of 95,750 ha. The Menzelet Dam is upstream and the Sır Dam downstream .
