The Berke Dam ( Turkish Berke Barajı ) is a dam with a 201 meter high arch dam in the south of Turkey in the provinces of Osmaniye and Kahramanmaraş , which dams the Ceyhan River for the purpose of generating energy . The hydroelectric power plant in a cavern has three 172 MW Francis turbines . The standard work capacity is 1672 GWh per year.

The dam wall has been specially reinforced with reinforced concrete and two "earthquake belts" against earthquakes. It is the highest arch dam in Turkey, was built from 1991 to 2001 and commissioned in 2002. Coyne & Bellier , among others, was involved in the planning .

Upstream is the Sır Dam , and downstream is the Aslantaş Dam .
