Kırka is a town with 3,160 inhabitants in the Turkish province of Eskişehir in the district of Seyitgazi on the road between Eskişehir and Afyon . The name Kırka is derived from the Turkish words kırk adam (40 men).
Kırka is known for its boron mining. The surrounding mountains are quite furrowed and the water in the catchment reservoirs is poisoned. There is not much to see in town other than the Etibank Borax Company's boron factory.
Towards Eskişehir, the area is almost treeless, hilly and stepped. From Seyitgazi one reaches Kırka through a valley. In the direction of Afyon you can see wooded landscapes that lead into the Phrygian Valley .
