The Ring series consists of the following novels:
- The Ring ( Ringu )
- Spiral - The Ring II ( lawn )
- Loop - The Ring III ( Loop )
The first two parts of the ring trilogy were filmed in Japan ( Ringu , Rasen ), including a prequel , Ring 0: Birthday , based on the short story Lemonheart , which later appeared in the ring 0: birthday ( Bāsudei ). From Ringu there is also the Hollywood adaptation of The Ring and a Korean / Chinese film titled Ring Virus .
The central element of the Ring cycle is a mysterious video that kills its viewer after exactly seven days. Each of the three novels develops in its own direction, but not without maintaining a certain consistency. The ring trilogy can be attributed to the genre of psychological horror , which was revived by Suzuki Koji.
